Kiira Korpi
Kiira Korpi is a Finnish former competitive figure skater who competed in ladies' singles. She was born in Lohja and resides in Espoo, Finland. Korpi began skating at the age of four. She was coached by Ludmila Gangnus and later by Virpi Horttana, who also coached fellow Finnish skater Laura Lepistö.
Career
Korpi missed most of the 2008-2009 season, including the national championships, due to an injury. She also did not compete during the 2009-2010 season and announced her retirement from amateur skating at the end of that season, choosing to focus on her studies.
Legacy
Korpi's name, "vähämaa," translates to "small land" in Finnish ("vähä" meaning small or scarce, and "maa" meaning land or country).
