Biography of Bryce Davison

Bryce Davison is a Canadian figure skater who competes in pair skating with Jessica Dubé. They are three-time Canadian champions (in 2007, 2009, and 2010) and won the bronze medal at the 2008 World Championships.

Early Years and Junior Career

Bryce Davison started skating at the age of six. He and Jessica Dubé won silver medals at the Junior World Championships in 2003 and 2004. However, in December 2004, Jessica underwent knee surgery, which forced the pair to withdraw from the Junior Grand Prix Final.

Olympic Games and Injuries

At the 2006 Olympic Games, Davison and Dubé finished in 10th place. They missed the Grand Prix series in 2006-2007 due to injuries suffered by Jessica.

On February 8, 2007, during the Four Continents Championships, a tragic accident occurred. While performing a parallel rotation, the partners got too close and Bryce accidentally cut Jessica's face with his skate. Jessica was immediately taken to the hospital and underwent surgery. Fortunately, she avoided eye injuries and facial fractures. Both skaters required the help of psychologists to return to the ice.

Success and Challenges

In 2008, Davison and Dubé won their first medal at the World Championships, a bronze. In the 2008-2009 season, they participated in the Grand Prix series. They placed second at Skate Canada and unexpectedly finished third in Japan, missing out on the Grand Prix Final.

The pair won the Canadian Championships in 2009. Despite facing challenges and setbacks throughout their career, Davison and Dubé continued to showcase their talent and determination on the ice.
