Early Life and Childhood
Jenny Jacques, born on February 28, 1989, in Coventry, England, has kept her early life and family background private.
Career Beginnings
Jacques' acting career commenced in 2009, when she appeared in two television shows simultaneously: "Midsomer Murders" and "Desperate Romantics." In "Desperate Romantics," she portrayed renowned artist's model Annie Miller, a role that marked her breakthrough performance.
Break into Stardom
2010 saw Jacques in several episodic roles in "Lark Rise to Candleford" and "Casualty" and in the short films "Nocturne" and "Between Me and You." She also starred in the feature films "Sharpen Up" and "Cherry Tree Lane."
Filmography Highlights
In 2011, Jacques featured in "Seven Lives" and "Suicide Kids," including a memorable role in the latter due to a nude scene shared with "Misfits" star Robert Sheehan.
2012 was relatively quiet, with appearances in "Another Side," "Personal Affairs," and "Doors Open." However, her role as an antagonist in "Play Till You Die" was notable.
2013 marked a turning point with a prominent role in "The Village" and the lead in "The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco." Jacques portrayed Gina Dawson, a newly hired female police officer navigating sexism and corruption in the late 1950s.
Joining "Vikings"
In 2015, Jacques joined the cast of "Vikings" as Judith, replacing Sarah Greene. She landed the role despite the historical drama's inaccuracies, based on Norse sagas of Viking raids. Jacques shared the screen with Travis Fimmel, Clive Standen, and Katheryn Winnick, who directed an episode in Season 6.
Personal Life
Jacques values her privacy and rarely discusses her personal life or relationships. She maintains an active social media presence, primarily on Instagram, but does not reveal much about herself. Known for her petite stature at 5'3" and 115 lbs, she enjoys sports and frequently shares photos from film sets.
Current Projects
Jacques continues to portray Judith in "Vikings." The series concluded its fifth season in 2017 and has been renewed for a sixth season, featuring Russian actor Danila Kozlovsky as Prince Oleg.
In 2019, Jacques is set to appear in "The No Hopers," where she will star alongside Rachel Hurd-Wood and other notable actors.
