Biography of Jennie Yoo - A Thai Woman with a Terrible Facial Tumor
Jennie Yoo is a 27-year-old Thai woman from Bangkok, Thailand, who is known for her incredible strength and perseverance in the face of a devastating facial tumor. It all started in late 2015 when Jennie began experiencing discomfort in the area of her two front teeth. She initially believed that a simple dental procedure would solve the issue, but her dentist referred her to a specialist in Seoul, South Korea.
Upon undergoing an X-ray, it was discovered that Jennie had a tumor in the left side of her jaw, which turned out to be cancerous. She underwent six rounds of chemotherapy, but the tumor continued to grow. As a result, her face became disfigured, with her nose and left eye being significantly affected.
Unfortunately, Jennie's condition also attracted cruel trolls who accused her of using Photoshop to exaggerate the severity of her condition. However, Jennie remained resilient and even posted a video explaining her struggle and the reality of her situation.
With the help of her parents, Jennie managed to raise 80,000 Thai baht (approximately £1800) to cover the cost of each chemotherapy session. In Thailand, medical grants often cover the expenses of such treatments.
Although doctors have advised against surgery, Jennie is determined to continue fighting her cancer. She now wears a mask and hat whenever she leaves her house to avoid unwanted attention. Her goal is to find employment and regain her independence, as she does not want to solely rely on her parents for financial support.
Jennie's diagnosis of oral cancer is a rare occurrence in the United Kingdom, accounting for only 2% of all cancer cases. The majority of patients affected by this type of cancer are between the ages of 50 and 74.
Treatment options for oral cancer typically include surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Jennie has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy, hoping to destroy the tumor and regain her normal life.
Despite the challenges she faces, Jennie continues to stay strong and optimistic. She hopes to inspire others with her story and raise awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment for oral cancer. With her determination and resilience, Jennie is an embodiment of courage and hope in the face of adversity.
