In 2005, Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer, which had already reached stage three. Soon after, she started a blog to share her experiences with the disease and her treatment. She actively collaborated with various anti-cancer charitable organizations, such as Alisa Unger's "Me and My Two Friends Foundation."

In 2006, Jennifer served as the grand marshal for the 11th annual "Walk for the Cause" parade, organized by a charitable foundation dedicated to early cancer detection and treatment.
