At the age of seven, Taylor signed a contract with a talent manager and began his acting career. He appeared in TV series such as "Reed Between the Lines" and "Good Behavior." He can also be seen in films like "42," "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip," "Ant-Man," and "Geostorm." Jeremy has had the opportunity to work with renowned actors such as Harrison Ford, Paul Rudd, Gerard Butler, and Bill Skarsgard. He met Skarsgard during the filming of "It," which became one of the best horror movies of 2017.

When asked if he relates to his character Ben Hanscom, a sensitive and shy boy who is bullied because of his weight, Jeremy replied, "Well, I think I'm just as smart (laughs). But no one has ever bullied me, and I would never wish that upon anyone. Luckily, I'm homeschooled, so I don't have to deal with anything like that. So, to me, me and my character are not connected that closely. But I'm just confident that I would come to the rescue of any of my friends if they were going through something similar." Jeremy adds, "In my opinion, it's insanely easy to play someone who is not like you, which might sound a bit strange. But I believe it's easier to portray someone who is different from you than to play someone who has similarities."

Jeremy familiarized himself with the script of "It" when he was 12 years old. His mother did not allow him to read the source material, Stephen King's novel of the same name. The book has an age restriction of 16+ and also intimidates some readers with its thickness. In the film "Ant-Man," Jeremy portrays a troublemaker, while in "It," he plays the victim of bullies. "It was a truly strange change — from being the bully to being the one bullied," Taylor said. "I think both roles are just cool to play, but at the same time, it's damn hard to portray someone who bullies others. In 'Ant-Man,' I was picking on a girl who was around seven years old. The feelings were just awful." Jeremy says he would love to see Chris Pratt play the adult version of Ben in the sequel to "It."
