Jerry Yang: Co-founder of Yahoo!

Jerry Yang, one of the creators of the search engine 'Yahoo!', resigned from the company. Yang caused dissatisfaction among shareholders by opposing the sale of the company to Microsoft, which was experiencing immense losses. Former CEO and co-founder of Yahoo!, Jerry Yang, decided to leave the company on January 18th. In his farewell statement, he wrote that it was time to pursue other projects "beyond Yahoo!". Yang stepped down from the board of directors of the search engine, which he co-founded in 1995 with David Filo. He also left all projects in which Yahoo! had ownership. One of Yahoo!'s co-owners, Third Point hedge fund, insisted on the founder's resignation. The investment firm accuses the search engine's management of poor leadership and losses. Furthermore, during his tenure as CEO of the company from 2007 to 2009, Yang disrupted the sale of his creation to IT giant Microsoft, causing dissatisfaction among shareholders. After the deal fell through, the company's stocks, which were already suffering losses, fell below $10 per share, compared to the threefold higher value during its peak. In light of Yang's high-profile departure, "Lenta.ru" decided to recall other founders of well-known internet companies who left or sold their projects.
