Jesús Bermúdez was a Bolivian goalkeeper known for his participation in the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930 in Uruguay. He played for the Club Oruro Royal in his hometown of Oruro and was a key member of Bolivia's national soccer team.
International Success
Bermúdez represented Bolivia in several international tournaments, including the 1926 and 1927 South American Championships. In the 1930 World Cup, he played two matches against Yugoslavia and Brazil, conceding a total of eight goals. While Bolivia did not achieve any victories or draws in these matches, Bermúdez's performance earned him recognition.
Legacy
In honor of Jesús Bermúdez's contributions to Bolivian soccer, the home stadium of Club Oruro Royal was named after him. Despite his limited appearances on the international stage, he remains an important figure in the history of Bolivian football.
