Jiang Jianqing, a Chinese financier, is the Chairman of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the largest bank in the world in terms of total assets and market capitalization. He is a prominent figure in China's financial industry and plays a crucial role in leading the activities of this important financial institution.

Jiang Jianqing started his career in the fields of Jiangxi province and coal mines in Henan province. During the Cultural Revolution, he worked in the fields and mines as part of a labor education program. In 1986, he joined ICBC as an operations officer in Shanghai. At that time, Jiang already had a higher education degree from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and later earned a master's degree and a doctorate from Jiao Tong University. In addition, Jiang had three years of party experience by 1986, having joined the ranks of the Chinese Communist Party in 1983.

Jiang excelled in his work and was promoted to Vice President of ICBC's Shanghai branch in 1993. He became the President of the Shanghai Bank in 1995, and the President of the Shanghai branch of ICBC in 1997. In July 1999, Jiang was appointed Vice President and Vice Party Secretary of ICBC. He also held positions as the President of the Chinese Urban Financial Society and the Vice President of the Chinese Financial Society. Jiang published the results of his research in articles such as "Technical Revolution in American Banking Industry." In 2002, he became a member of the Credit and Monetary Policy Department of the People's Bank of China.

Jiang Jianqing has been recognized for his influence and achievements. He has been listed as one of the "50 Most Influential People in the World" by Bloomberg Markets in 2011 and 2012. In December 2012, he was named the "Most Influential Leader of a Public Company" at the Golden Bauhinia Awards. In April 2013, Jiang was honored as the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Asian Awards.

Jiang Jianqing is considered one of the most authoritative and influential financiers in China and the world. In China, he is known not only as an outstanding financier but also as a high-ranking party official. However, his greatest impact lies in his role as the head of ICBC. The bank is a major player in the global financial arena, controlling a significant portion of China's banking sector and operating a network of over 16,000 branches. Under Jiang's leadership, the bank has employed over 387,000 people. As of 2007, the bank had a market capitalization of 319 billion, which has only strengthened since then.
