Jill Eikenberry is an American actress known for her popular role as attorney Ann Kelsey in the television series "LA Law" (1986-1994). She was born on January 21, 1947, in New Haven, Connecticut, and grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. Currently, the actress resides in New York with her family.

Eikenberry attended Barnard College where she initially studied anthropology but later transferred to the Yale School of Drama. It was during her time at Yale that she met Michael Tucker, whom she would later marry.

Personal Life and Acting Career

In 1973, Eikenberry married Michael Tucker, and the couple settled in New York. They raised their son together and also cared for Tucker's daughter from a previous marriage. In the 1970s, Eikenberry began actively appearing in television films, making her debut in the movie "They've Killed President Lincoln" (1971). Around the same time, she also made her Broadway debut.

However, Eikenberry gained significant popularity in 1986 when she first appeared in the television series "LA Law." Following her success, she faced health issues after being diagnosed with breast cancer. This coincided with changes in her acting career as Eikenberry and Tucker relocated to Hollywood.

Later Career and Recognition

Despite the challenges, Eikenberry continued to appear in television films over the next decade, including her ongoing role in "LA Law." The series proved to be highly successful, both critically and financially. With their earnings, Eikenberry and Tucker produced several television films, including "Assault and Matrimony" (1987), "The Secret Life of Archie's Wife" (1990), "A Town Torn Apart" (1992), and "Gone in a Heartbeat" (1996).
