Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Born in Mississippi, Jimi Jamison soon relocated with his mother to Memphis, Tennessee, which he proudly considered his hometown. His passion for rock music emerged during his school years, leading him to participate in various rock bands.

Lead Vocalist in Renowned Bands

Jamison's vocal prowess earned him the lead singer position in bands such as Target and Cobra. He also contributed his talents to numerous other groups, including ZZ Top as a backing vocalist.

Joining Survivor

In 1983, after the dissolution of Cobra, Jamison auditioned for the band Survivor after their vocalist Dave Bickler underwent vocal cord surgery. He successfully landed the job and became an integral part of the band's success.

Solo Career and Jimmie Jamison's Band

In the early 1990s, Jamison formed his own band, Jimmie Jamison's Band. In 1991, he released his debut solo album, "When Love Comes Down."

Tragic Passing

On September 1, 2014, Jimi Jamison passed away at the age of 63 due to a heart attack, leaving behind a remarkable legacy as a talented rock vocalist.
