The Burton Twins: A Lifelong Bond

Many have heard stories of twins separated in childhood, whose lives followed the same pattern and who unknowingly made the same decisions in identical situations. Joe and Kerry Burton, however, were spared this separation and to this day live just five minutes apart. Their identical actions do not hinder them; on the contrary, the sisters even undergo cosmetic surgeries simultaneously.

Childhood and Bond

Like many twins, Joe and Kerry Burton did everything together from birth. They attended ballet classes together, bravely fought chickenpox together, and couldn't imagine a life without each other. Their strong bond only grew stronger as they grew older, and even as adults, the Burtons continued to mirror each other's actions, even in the realm of cosmetic surgery.

Synchronized Surgeries

It all began 17 years ago when Joe decided to have a minor nose operation. Kerry willingly followed her sister's lead. This marked the beginning of a long series of "matching" surgeries. Now at 38 years old, the sisters have jointly spent £70,000 on cosmetic surgeons. All surgeries were performed at the same time by the same doctors, ensuring their complete indistinguishability in the future. They have had two breast augmentations, identical nose surgeries, matching eyelifts, and identical permanent makeup. The Burtons even coordinate smaller procedures such as pedicures, manicures, and artificial tanning. Twice a year, they both get Botox injections to ensure that the aging process occurs simultaneously and their unique resemblance remains unchanged.

Early Surgical Mishaps

The sisters first went under the surgeon's knife together when they were 21 years old. According to Kerry, the older of the two and a working beautician and mother of two, she suggested that Joe should undergo a surgery. Joe had always dreamed of a slightly less prominent nose, and after considering her sister's proposal, Kerry willingly agreed. Each sister paid £2,500 for the surgery. However, to their dismay, during the operation, the tips of their noses deviated in different directions, and they failed to achieve complete identicalness. A year later, they had to undergo corrective surgery.

Unfazed by Setbacks

Despite the mishap, the sisters' enthusiasm remained undeterred. In 2004, the Burton sisters each spent £4,500 to increase their breast size from 34B to 34DD. By the age of 26, Joe and Kerry began synchronously receiving Botox injections and facial procedures. In 2009, they obtained tattoos as eyeliner for a modest sum of £300. They followed this with eyelift surgeries, costing them an additional £6,000 each. Joe, noticing wrinkles on her face, took the initiative yet again and decided to have these removed. Their most recent surgery took place in January, where they underwent another breast augmentation, increasing their size from DD to E, and replaced their earlier low-quality implants with more expensive models.

Parents' Perspective

Joe and Kerry's parents, Valerie and Colin, were not surprised by their daughters' synchronized actions. The elder Burtons admitted that they had no idea they would have twins until just four weeks before the girls were born. The newborns only differed in weight by 140 grams, and distinguishing them became increasingly difficult over time. To solve this, their parents resorted to tricks such as dressing Joe in blue and Kerry in pink. However, as the sisters grew older, they openly utilized their resemblance for their own purposes. In school, they often substituted for one another, with Kerry taking Joe's place in culinary classes, as Kerry had no interest in them. It seems that this pattern will continue, as Joe and Kerry are already considering facelifts. Although it is still in the planning phase, the sisters are certain that they will never do anything significant individually.
