Early Life and Education
Johannes "Jo" Weil was born in Petersberg, a suburb of Fulda, Germany, to a sales agent father and a physiotherapist mother. He has a brother who is three years younger than him. Weil attended the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Schule in his hometown.
After completing his alternative civilian service, Weil pursued acting at a drama school in Cologne. He also attended private acting and singing classes.
Acting Career
Weil has enjoyed a successful career in both theater and television. He has appeared in numerous productions, including the long-running soap opera "Forbidden Love." In this series, he plays the lead role of Oliver Sabel, which he has portrayed since 2007.
Other Endeavors
Beyond acting, Weil has released two singles as a singer, in 2002 and 2014. He also writes a column called "Weil's World" for the English magazine reFRESH.
Charity Work
Weil is actively involved in charitable organizations. He is a patron of Aktion Tagwerk and Aidshilfe Köln, which supports people living with HIV/AIDS. In 2009, he led the "Puzzles of Dreams" project, which granted children's wishes across Germany.
