Joachim Herz is a German billionaire and the heir of the coffee corporation Tchibo Holding AG. He owns multiple subsidiaries, one of which is Tchibo GmbH.
Early Years
Tchibo GmbH was founded in 1949 by Joachim's father, Max Herz. Originally, the company focused on delivering coffee, but over the years, it grew into a large multinational corporation with a wide range of operations.
Expansion and Success
In 1955, Tchibo GmbH opened its first store where customers could not only purchase coffee but also enjoy a freshly brewed cup. In 1972, Tchibo Café Service was officially registered, introducing new and highly popular services to the public. The company started selling not only coffee but also other essential items like watches, shirts, books, and more.
Tchibo Holding AG
In 1988, the organization was renamed Tchibo Holding AG. Within a few years, the company gained recognition not only in Germany but also internationally. For example, the first store in Russia, located in Saint Petersburg, opened in 1994.
Family Conflict
