The disappointment continued at the World Championships in 2003, where she finished seventeenth. However, she bounced back at the Cup of Russia Grand Prix, earning a confident fourth place. In the 2003/04 Canadian Championships, she won a silver medal, followed by a gold medal at the Bofrost Cup on Ice in the same year. Rochette won gold at Skate Canada Grand Prix and silver at the Four Continents Championships in 2009. At the World Championships, she achieved second place, becoming the first Canadian figure skater since Elizabeth Manley to podium in this event.

2010 Olympics and Personal Tragedy
In 2010, Rochette represented Canada at the Winter Olympics. Just two days before the competition's start, her mother tragically passed away. Her mother had arrived in Vancouver to support Rochette and the skater decided to stay and compete, dedicating her performance to her late mother. During the short program, she skated better than ever, earning 71.36 points. Two days later, Rochette placed third in the free skate and won the bronze medal.
