Early Career and Club Success

Joël Camargo was a renowned Brazilian footballer who began his career with Portuguesa Santista in 1963. He then joined the legendary Santos Futebol Clube, where he made his debut after the team had secured the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup. During his tenure at Santos from 1963 to 1971, Camargo contributed to the club's remarkable trophy haul, including numerous Brazilian championships and regional titles.

International Triumph

As a defender, Camargo was integral to the Brazilian national team that triumphed in the 1970 FIFA World Cup. His unwavering presence and skill on the field helped secure Brazil's third World Cup victory. From 1964 to 1970, he made 28 official appearances for Brazil, along with an additional 10 unofficial matches.

Brief Stint in Paris

In 1971, Camargo moved to the French club Paris Saint-Germain. However, his time there was brief, as he played only two matches before leaving in 1972.

Later Career
