Joffre Guerrón, born on April 18, 1988, is an Ecuadorian footballer who plays as a winger for Liga MX club Tigres UANL and the Ecuador national team.
Early Career and Rise to Prominence
Guerrón began his professional career with LDU Quito in Ecuador. He quickly gained recognition for his exceptional skills and was considered one of the most promising young talents in South America. In 2008, he played a pivotal role in LDU Quito's historic Copa Libertadores triumph, the first for an Ecuadorian club. His three goals in the competition, including one against Fluminense in the first leg of the final, cemented his reputation as a prolific scorer.
European Transfer and International Debut
Guerrón's performances attracted the attention of major clubs in Europe. In June 2008, he signed a four-year contract with Spanish La Liga club Getafe CF for a transfer fee of €4 million. The move marked a significant step in his career as he became one of the few Ecuadorian players to play in Europe. Loan to Cruzeiro
In 2009, Guerrón was loaned to Brazilian club Cruzeiro. He spent a year in Brazil before returning to Getafe.
Later Career
After his loan spell at Cruzeiro, Guerrón returned to Tigres UANL in Mexico in 2013.
