Early Career and European StintsJohan Berg Gudmundsson, an Icelandic winger, emerged from the ranks of Icelandic club Breiðablik. While honing his skills in the youth team, he had stints at English giants Chelsea and Fulham. In 2008, Gudmundsson made his professional debut for Breiðablik in the Icelandic league.
In 2009, Gudmundsson embarked on a new chapter, joining Dutch club AZ Alkmaar on a five-year contract. He made his Eredivisie debut in 2010 and notched his first goal for AZ in 2011. His contributions helped the team secure the Dutch Cup in 2013.
English Journey
Seeking new challenges, Gudmundsson signed a two-year deal with English club Charlton Athletic in 2014. He made his Championship debut in 2014, scoring his first goal for the team shortly after. In 2015, he extended his contract for another four years.
