Dr. Carl Seidemann was a German historian, who initially served as a pastor near Dresden, Germany. This position granted him access to the city's archives, where he dedicated himself to historical research.

Involvement in Luther's Letters

In 1849, upon the untimely demise of W. M. L. de Wette, who had been compiling the letters of Martin Luther, the task was entrusted to Dr. Seidemann. In 1857, he published "Lathersbriefe," a significant addition to the previous work. His contributions provided invaluable material for C. A. H. Burkhardt's "Briefwechsel Dr. Mart. Luthers."
