Johannes Lochner
Johannes Lochner is a German bobsledder who has represented Germany since 2014. He is a 2016 World Champion in the mixed team event and a three-time World Championship silver medalist in the two-man and team events.
Early Career
Lochner began his bobsledding career as a brakeman. In 2014, he placed second in the four-man event at the World Junior Championships with Mattias Boehm.
Transition to Pilot
In the 2014/2015 season, Lochner transitioned to piloting a bobsled. He achieved his best result in the World Cup that season, placing fifth in the two-man event.
World Championship Success
At the 2015 World Championships, Lochner won two silver medals: one in the two-man event with Joshua Blum and one in the mixed team event. The following year, he earned the gold medal in the mixed team event at the World Championships.
Continued Success
Since 2015, Lochner has consistently performed at a high level, earning additional World Championship medals and victories in the World Cup. He is considered one of the top bobsledders in the world.
