For the past 15 years, the group has doubled in size every five years. As of March 2013, Western & Southern had $60 billion in assets and was ranked among the top eight life insurance groups worldwide.
Economic Resilience Amidst the Crisis

Controversial Business Dealings
In 2013, Western & Southern's purchase of the Anna Louise Inn, a historic boarding house for women, sparked controversy. The deal involved legal challenges and attracted national attention. The dispute was resolved in May 2013 when the Anna Louise Inn agreed to sell the property to Western & Southern for $4 million. Barrett's handling of the acquisition was criticized by some as an example of corporate greed.
