Early Life and Education
Roman Gotsiridze was born on December 16, 1955, in the Abkhazian city of Gali. In 1981, he graduated in economics from Tbilisi State University and completed his postgraduate studies at the same university in 1986.
Political Career
Government PositionsFrom 1992 to 1993, Gotsiridze served as Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia for the economy. Following the Rose Revolution in 2003, he became Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance and Budget Committee from 2004 to 2005.
Partisan Affiliation
In 1989, Gotsiridze joined the Republican Party of Georgia. He was elected to the Supreme Council of Georgia in 1990 and became Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Reforms.
Current Position
President of the National Bank of GeorgiaSince March 22, 2005, Gotsiridze has served as the President of the National Bank of Georgia and Chairman of its Board of Directors. He has played a key role in managing Georgia's financial and monetary policies.
