Biography of Jon Fratelli
Jon Fratelli, whose real name is John Paul Lawler, is a Scottish musician and the frontman and songwriter of the popular indie rock band "The Fratellis". He was born on March 4, 1979, in Glasgow, Scotland. Not much is known about his early life, but he attended St. Maurice's High School before briefly attending college, where he realized that he was not cut out for academics.
Music Career
In 2005, Jon saw an advertisement seeking musicians to leave a mark in the world of music, and he decided to respond and try his luck. Surprisingly, he found like-minded individuals and together, they formed the band "The Fratellis". In just a few months, the band recorded their first songs and started performing at small festivals and clubs. They quickly caught the attention of music publications, which distinguished them from other Scottish indie rock bands.
In 2007, Jon and "The Fratellis" released their debut album, "Costello Music". Over the next few months, the band toured Europe and North America, gaining attention from major international publications. Despite their success, the band unexpectedly announced their breakup in 2010 due to exhaustion and the inability to continue performing together.
Shortly after the breakup, news emerged that Jon had formed a new band called "Codeine Velvet Club" and planned to continue playing indie rock. Although the rumors were not entirely true – Jon eventually explored alternative rock and baroque-pop genres – the band was indeed formed and released their album, "Codeine Velvet Club". After two years, Jon decided to disband the group because he couldn't dedicate enough time and energy to the project, believing that music cannot be genuine without these elements.
Solo Career and Personal Life
Jon embarked on a solo career and quickly recorded the album "Psycho Jukebox", which received positive reviews from critics. However, when he recorded his second solo album, "Bright Night Flowers", he decided not to release it. In an interview, Jon confessed, "In reality, I recorded another album. I am extremely happy with the recording, but once I finished the last song, I put the disc away, knowing that nobody would hear it. I recorded it for myself; it was something I needed to do. I often listen to the songs and truly enjoy them, but if I were to release the album, everything would be different."
As of today, Jon Fratelli resides in Scotland. He is known to be married and raising a son who was born in 1999 when Jon was only 20 years old.
