Biography of Yoni Erlich

Yoni Erlich is an Israeli professional tennis player. He turned professional in 1996 and has since had a successful career in doubles tennis. Erlich has won 14 doubles titles, with 12 of them being alongside his longtime partner, Andy Ram.

In 2006, Erlich and Ram finished the year ranked seventh in the ATP Race, and they also reached the ninth position in the ATP doubles rankings. The following year, they clinched victory at the Australian Open, securing their first Grand Slam title together.

Erlich and Ram have participated twice in the ATP World Tour Finals, the season-ending tournament of the ATP Tour, but were unable to advance past the group stage. Unfortunately, Erlich missed the end of the 2008 season, including his third consecutive appearance at the ATP World Tour Finals, due to an elbow injury that required surgery.

Upon his return in May 2009, Erlich reached the final of an ATP Challenger tournament in Ramat Hasharon partnering with Ram. He then won his next "challenger" title in Izmir alongside Harel Levy. For the Israeli Davis Cup team, Erlich has played 17 matches, winning 12 and losing four in doubles. He also secured one victory in singles. After his return to tennis in 2009, Erlich played his first match alongside Ram against Dmitry Tursunov and Marat Safin in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup tie against Russia. Their victory in a five-set thriller helped Israel secure an overall win.
