Biography of Nicole Jordan
Nicole Jordan is a renowned writer of romance novels. Her books are published in numerous countries and have gained immense popularity. Women from diverse social backgrounds, with varying levels of education and occupations, are avid readers of her novels. Nicole Jordan herself is a prime example of a successful woman working in this genre. She has won multiple literary awards and holds an engineering degree.
Nicole Jordan, whose real name is Anna Bushhead (later known as Anna Frankenfield) was born in 1954. She spent her childhood constantly moving due to her father's military service, even completing her schooling in Germany. Her mother often read to her in the evenings, and by the age of ten, Anna had developed a love for novels by Jane Austen. She frequently reread the iconic adventure novel "Scarlet Pimpernel" by Emma Orczy, which further fueled her passion for gothic literature by authors like Victoria Holt and Mary Stewart.
Despite excelling in English and French, Anna realized that pursuing a career as a philologist would not provide her with financial stability. Thus, after finishing school, she enrolled at the University of Georgia and earned a degree in civil engineering. Anna began working for the worldwide renowned corporation Procter & Gamble and got married. During her job, she managed production processes for hygiene products. In the evenings, to unwind from the stress, she indulged in reading. Her favorite authors became Dean Koontz and Nelson DeMille.
One day, after an especially tiring workday, Anna got engrossed in Laurie McBain's novel "Tears of Gold." The captivating romantic thriller set during the California Gold Rush resonated with her, and for the first time, she thought about trying her hand at writing something similar. A few years later, in 1985, Zebra Publishers accepted her historical romance novel "Velvet Embrace" for publication. It was followed by its sequel, "Desire and Deception." Considering her real name unsuitable for the genre, the aspiring writer adopted the pen name Nicole Jordan. Since then, Nicole Jordan has published around 40 novels and continues to work prolifically.
Her books have often appeared on bestseller lists, including those by "The New York Times," "USA Today," and "Publishers Weekly." Nicole Jordan has been a finalist for the prestigious RITA Award multiple times, and her works have been recognized as the "best books of the year," receiving accolades such as the Dorothy Parker Award and Romantic Times Magazine's awards. However, her name was also humorously featured on "The Tonight Show" hosted by Jay Leno, where he comically recited an excerpt from her novel "Touch Me With Fire." Nicole Jordan took it in stride, explaining to journalists that she, like many women, enjoys such novels and sees no reason to be ashamed of her tastes.
Currently, the writer resides in Utah with her husband. They live in a large house and own several thoroughbred horses that participate in various shows.
