Early Life and Dance Career

Jordan Chan was born in Hong Kong in 1967. He developed a passion for music and dance from a young age. In 1985, he enrolled in dance classes at TVB, a prominent television station in Hong Kong.

After completing his training, Jordan Chan joined dance crews that performed at concerts of popular Asian artists such as Alan Tam, Leslie Cheung, and Anita Mui. His energetic style caught the attention of Hui Yuen, founder of a dance troupe company, who invited him to join the group Wind, Fire, and Ocean alongside Jason Chu and Michael Tse. Jordan accepted and later launched his solo music career.

Music Career

As a musician, Jordan Chan made significant contributions to the development of Cantopop, infusing it with hip-hop elements. He released his first album in 2002 and continues to use rap and hip-hop influences in his music. Notably, he was known as Donald and Kelvin during his dance years and adopted the name Jordan later in honor of basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Film Debut and Breakthrough

Jordan Chan made his film debut in 1994 with a standout performance as Bo, a mischievous character in "Twenty Something." This role earned him a Hong Kong Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. He continued to appear in several films that year, including Peter Chan's "He's a Woman, She's a Man," where he played a young man pretending to be gay to win over a woman.

Chan gained widespread recognition for his role as Chicken in Wilson Yip's "Young and Dangerous," an action film about a group of close-knit friends who rise through the ranks of the Hong Kong triad. The film was a huge success, spawning nine sequels and establishing Jordan Chan as one of Hong Kong's most popular actors.

Range of Roles

Throughout his career, Jordan Chan has showcased a wide range of acting skills. He has portrayed a thief in "Enter the Eagles," a hacker in "City Hunter," and a horror protagonist in "Sleeping with the Dead." He has also played comedic roles, such as in "Irresistible Piggies," and has even ventured into the superhero genre with "Unexpected Men in Black."

"The Last Secret of the Master"

In 2009, Jordan Chan joined the cast of the Russian-Chinese television series "The Last Secret of the Master." The detective-comedy revolves around the theft of a historical relic and features impressive martial arts stunts. Chan played Li Danyu, a kung fu master who possesses the secret of levitation. He performed many of the stunts himself without a stunt double.

The series, which spanned Russia, China, and France, featured a Russian ensemble cast and received critical acclaim. It was a commercial success, both in Europe and among Russian audiences.
