Damien Zamogilny: Argentine Midfielder's Journey

Early Career

Born in Argentina, Damien Zamogilny began his football career in the youth ranks of Club Atlético Independiente in 1999. In 2000, he was promoted to the senior team but endured a disappointing season and was subsequently transferred.

Trials and Tribulations

Zamogilny's agent secured him a trial with Club León in Mexico, but the team ultimately decided against signing him. He then joined second-tier side Querétaro before moving to amateur club Real de la Plata.

Breakthrough at Puebla

While playing for Real de la Plata in a friendly against Puebla FC, Zamogilny caught the attention of the Puebla management. He signed a contract with the club in 2006, making his debut that November.

Success with Puebla

Zamogilny quickly established himself as a key player for Puebla, helping them achieve promotion from the second to the first Mexican division. His performances in the 2007 season were particularly impressive, earning him the distinction of being named the Mexican Primera División's Defensive Player of the Year (Golden Ball).

Transfer to Tecos UAG

In 2008, Zamogilny made a high-profile move to Tecos UAG for a reported $3 million fee. He has remained with the club ever since, continuing to contribute significantly to their midfield.
