Early Life and Education

Jørgen Kofod-Jensen was born on October 30, 1923, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied engineering at Metropolitanskolen and developed a keen interest in languages, including Interlingua, Spanish, Esperanto, Occidental, and others.

Contributions to the Interlingua Movement

Kofod-Jensen became a member of the Danish Interlingua Union (DIU) upon its foundation in 1960. In 1963, he took on the role of secretary and served as president of the DIU from 1985 until his passing. Furthermore, he edited the periodical "Actualitates" from 1972 to 2000.

Personal Life and Legacy

On July 7, 1998, Kofod-Jensen celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife Karen. He passed away on December 13, 2004, at the age of 81. As a dedicated linguist and advocate for Interlingua, Kofod-Jensen left a lasting legacy in the field of language and international communication.
