Early Career

Jose Baxter began his footballing journey at Everton's youth academy at the tender age of six. He progressed through the ranks, making his debut for the club's under-18 squad at the age of 15.

Premier League Debut

In August 2008, at the age of 16 years and 191 days, Baxter made his first team debut for Everton in a Premier League match against Blackburn Rovers, becoming the club's youngest ever player to take the field.

Injury Setback

Despite his promising start, Baxter's career was hampered by injuries in subsequent years. He made only a handful of appearances for Everton's first team, spending the majority of his time playing for the club's reserve team.

Loan to Tranmere Rovers

In September 2011, Baxter joined Tranmere Rovers on loan in search of regular playing time. He made an immediate impact, scoring a goal on his debut and continuing his impressive form throughout his loan spell.

Return to Everton and Retirement

After returning to Everton in January 2012, Baxter continued to struggle with injuries. He made only one more first team appearance for the club before being released at the end of the 2012-13 season. Baxter subsequently retired from professional football due to ongoing injury problems.

International Career

Baxter represented England at the under-16 and under-17 levels. He captained the under-17 team at the 2008 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, but England failed to progress beyond the group stage.
