Early Life
Joshua Lee Holloway was born on July 20, 1969, in San Jose, California. He was the second child in a family of a surveyor and a teacher. Josh has three siblings. When he was two years old, his family moved to Georgia, where they lived in an old trailer on a large piece of land inherited from a distant relative. Holloway's childhood was spent with his brothers as there were no other children in the neighborhood. The family lived in poverty, which was evident from their worn-out clothes and rusty pickup truck. To stop the mockery from his peers, Holloway often had to resort to fighting, which nearly got him expelled from school. Despite the financial hardships, Holloway dreamt of becoming a film actor from an early age, but his family's financial situation did not allow him to attend theater courses. During vacations, he worked on local poultry farms, collecting dead chicks to earn some money. In his youth, Holloway also worked at a restaurant and construction sites. Modeling Career
One day, during a visit to a hair salon, a young and attractive Holloway was invited to participate in a hairstyling show as a model. After the event, he was offered a modeling job for Macy's, which marked the beginning of his modeling career. Before getting married, Josh Holloway never lacked female attention. He had short-lived relationships before his acting career took off. In the early stages of his modeling career, Holloway met Indonesian woman Yessica Kumala. They had a brief romance, but for several years, they maintained a friendly relationship. Eventually, their romantic feelings resurfaced, and they started living together. Holloway proposed to Kumala in Hawaii after the pilot episode of "Lost". They got married in the fall of 2004. The couple decided to buy a house and a yacht in Hawaii, where they lived during the filming of the famous TV series. In April 2009, they welcomed a daughter named Java Kumala, followed by a son named Hunter Lee in February. Journalists and fans note that Holloway does not suffer from a star complex and, even after gaining popularity, he remains a down-to-earth and open person. At one point, Holloway even attempted to live in nature but eventually grew bored. In 2016, he appeared as the lead in the sci-fi TV series "Colony". The show is set in a post-apocalyptic future where humanity is enslaved by an extraterrestrial force. Holloway's character, former FBI agent Will Bowman, secretly maintains contact with his wife as they both try to find their missing son and join the resistance against the alien threat.
