Early Career at Argentino de Quilmes

Juan Botasso, a renowned Argentine goalkeeper, embarked on his football journey at Argentino de Quilmes. His debut match for the club took place on March 20, 1927, against Sportivo Palermo, where Argentino suffered a 2-4 defeat.

Historic Transfer to Racing de Avellaneda

In 1930, Botasso made a significant move to Racing de Avellaneda. He played a pivotal role in Argentine football history, becoming the first goalkeeper to feature in the inaugural match of the professional championship on June 4, 1931.

Return to Argentino de Quilmes

After a successful stint at Racing, Botasso returned to Argentino de Quilmes, which was then competing in the second division of Argentine football. He remained with the club until his retirement in 1946.
