About Martín Silva
Early CareerMartín Silva is a Uruguayan professional footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Juventud Las Piedras and the Uruguay national team. He began his career with Defensor Sporting in Uruguay.
Club Career
In 2006, Silva had a brief stint with Peñarol, playing in 27 matches. In 2008, he signed a contract with Brazilian club Botafogo. After representing Botafogo, Silva returned to Uruguay to play for Juventud Las Piedras.
International Career
Silva made his debut for the Uruguay national team on September 12, 2007, in a match against South Africa. In 2011, he was part of the Uruguayan squad that won the Copa América tournament, despite not playing in any matches.
