Biography of Judy Reyes
Judy Reyes is an American actress known for her role as Nurse Carla Espinosa in the NBC sitcom 'Scrubs' (2001-2010). She was born in the Bronx, New York, and developed an interest in theater during her time at Hunter College in New York City. In 1992, Reyes became one of the co-founders of the multicultural theater collective 'LAByrinth', which grew to include over a hundred members, including renowned actors Eric Bogosian, Sam Rockwell, and her sister Joselin Reyes. Philip Seymour Hoffman served as the artistic director of 'LAByrinth'.
Early Career
Reyes' first significant role in film was as Rosie in the movie 'Jack and His Friends' (1992), in which she starred alongside Sam Rockwell. She later appeared in various popular television series such as 'Law & Order', 'NYPD Blue', 'Street Justice', 'The Cosby Mysteries', and 'The Cosby Show'. Alongside her television roles, Reyes also had roles in films, most notably as a nurse in Martin Scorsese's drama 'Bringing Out the Dead' (1999). During this time, she continued to perform with 'LAByrinth' and also worked as a producer.
Rise to Fame in 'Scrubs'
