Biography of Jules Massenet
Jules Emile Frédéric Massenet, a French composer, was born on May 12, 1842, in Monto. He received several awards from the Paris Conservatory, as well as the Rome Prize. From 1878 to 1896, he served as a composition professor at the Conservatory. In 1878, he was elected to the Academy of Fine Arts.

Massenet's most well-known operas include "Manon" (1884), "Werther" (1892), "Thais" (1894), and "Le Jongleur de Notre Dame" (1902).
