Early Life and Beginnings
Julie was born on February 5, 1981, and began singing at the tender age of 8 with her father accompanying her on the piano. Her first song was "Mon Dieu" by Edith Piaf. At 11, she enrolled in the "Studio des Variétés" in Paris, which later paved the way for her recording the theme song for the animated film "Starla et les Joyaux Magiques." Her television debut came at 13 on "La Chance aux Chansons," where she performed "Mon amie pour la vie."
The Notre-Dame Era
In 1994, Julie recorded a duet with Lenny Kravitz, but the single never saw the light of day. Her breakthrough came when she met the director of the musical "Notre-Dame de Paris" during the Franco-folie de La Rochelle. She was offered the role of Fleur-de-Lys, the fiancée of Phoebus, played by Patrick Fiori. In 1999, Julie debuted in the role of Esmeralda in Lille with a new cast of Notre-Dame.
Solo Career and Collaborations
In 2000, Julie released her debut solo album, "Fragile." She collaborated with her former Notre-Dame co-stars Patrick Fiori, Luc Mervil, Zazie, Calogero, and Marie Jo Zarb. Her second album, "Dans les yeux d'un autre," was released on December 9, 2002, with nine songs co-written with Patrick Fiori.
Personal Life
Julie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including her sister Vanessa. Despite her busy schedule, she makes time to stay in touch with her old friends. She is known for her occasional tardiness and her sweet tooth for candies. Julie loves receiving gifts, particularly handbags, shoes, and chocolates. She is also a dedicated fan of her fans, reading and responding to their letters.
