Luis Raul Rivera Rivera, born in Argentina, is an American chess player and International Master (1967).
Early Life and Education
Rivera Rivera's family emigrated to Puerto Rico in 1963, where he began his chess career. He later moved to the United States and attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1967 to 1972.
Chess Accomplishments
In 1967, Rivera Rivera won the Puerto Rican Championship and the World Junior Chess Championship in Jerusalem. He represented Puerto Rico in four Chess Olympiads from 1966 to 1972.
Career Highlights
After his chess career, Rivera Rivera worked at Autodesk and developed several chess software programs. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the field of computer chess.
