István Kovács

István Kovács was a Hungarian footballer who played for the Hungarian national team and several clubs throughout his career.

National Team Career

Kovács made his debut for the Hungarian national team in 1982 and went on to represent his country 56 times, scoring 19 goals. He was a member of the Hungarian squad that participated in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, where they failed to progress beyond the group stage.

Club Career

Budapest Honvéd

Kovács began his club career with Budapest Honvéd, where he achieved numerous successes:
