Kamel Stoch was born in Zakopane, Poland. He attended a sports school in his hometown and later continued his education at the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow, where he earned a Master's degree in Physical Education in October 2012.
Career

Stoch started skiing at the age of 3 and began ski jumping at the age of 4. At the age of 6, he received his first special ski jumping equipment as a gift from his uncle, and at 8, he joined a local sports club. In 2006, Stoch competed in his first World Championships, finishing 9th in the team event and 35th in the individual event. He then participated in his first Olympic Games in Turin, Italy in 2006, achieving 5th place in the team event, 16th place in the normal hill, and 26th place in the large hill. Stoch returned to the Olympics in Vancouver, Canada in 2010, where he finished 6th in the team event, 27th in the normal hill, and 14th in the large hill.
Successes

On January 23, 2011, Stoch won his first World Cup competition, becoming the first Polish ski jumper to achieve this feat. He won his second World Cup competition on February 2, 2011, and became the Polish champion for the third time on February 22, 2011. Stoch secured his third World Cup victory on March 20, 2011. In December 2011, he won the Polish championship again with an impressive jump of 136 meters. On January 20, 2012, he won his fourth World Cup competition. Stoch finished the 2011-2012 season in 5th place in the overall World Cup standings, with 7 podium finishes (2 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals), his best season to date. In the 2013 World Championships, Stoch earned the highest score in the qualification round but slipped to 8th place after the second round. However, he managed to win a gold medal in the competition, despite not being fully satisfied with his performance.
Later Career

Kamil Stoch

Stoch continued to achieve success in the following seasons, finishing the year in 3rd place in the World Cup rankings and winning 2 gold medals. At the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Stoch was considered one of the favorites and proved his abilities by winning gold medals in both the normal hill and large hill events. He became the third athlete in Olympic history to win both individual ski jumping events at the same Games.
