Biography of Kamila Zhuk

Junior Career

Kamila Zhuk is a Polish biathlete who has achieved success in various competitions. She has been a multiple winner of the Polish Biathlon Cup and Summer Biathlon Cup in the junior age categories. In 2015, she emerged victorious in the sprint and pursuit events at the XXI All-Polish Youth Olympic Games for athletes under 19. She also secured second place in the relay and third place in the individual race. The following year, Zhuk competed in the same games for athletes under 21 and won the sprint event. She finished second in the pursuit and third in the individual race.

International Competitions

Zhuk has been participating in international competitions since 2015. In the Junior World Championships in Raubichi, she placed 13th in the sprint, but had disappointing performances in the pursuit and individual races. The following year, at the World Championships in Cheile Gradistei, she finished 11th in the sprint, 29th in the pursuit, and 28th in the individual race. The Polish relay team finished fifth. At the 2016 Junior European Championships in Pokljuka, Zhuk achieved top-10 finishes in the sprint and pursuit events, placing sixth and eighth, respectively. She has also competed in the Junior World Championships for Summer Biathlon in 2015, where she achieved two 15th place finishes, and the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2015, where she placed 56th in the sprint and 32nd in the pursuit.

Adult Career

In the Polish Championships of 2015, Zhuk won a bronze medal in the relay event, with her team from Duszniki Zdroj finishing third out of four participants. She also achieved 11th place in the sprint and 14th place in the mass start. In November 2015, she made her debut in the IBU Cup at the first stage of the 2015/16 season in Idre, Sweden, finishing 48th in the sprint. Her best result in the IBU Cup was 17th place in the sprint at the Martell stage in March 2016. In the overall IBU Cup standings for the 2015/16 season, Zhuk finished 93rd with 38 points.

In December 2015, she made her debut in the World Cup at the stage in Pokljuka, Slovenia, finishing 75th in the sprint. Throughout the 2015/16 season, she participated in two World Cup races but did not earn any points.
