Mari Laukkanen: From Biathlon to Cross-Country

Early Career and Biathlon Success

Mari Laukkanen first made her mark in biathlon, representing Finland on the international stage. Her debut on the World Cup circuit came in 2006 in Anterselva, where she placed 43rd. Gradually gaining momentum, she earned her first World Cup points in 2009 at the World Championships in Östersund, finishing 32nd in the sprint.

Laukkanen's most notable achievements in biathlon include winning the sprint and pursuit races at Holmenkollen in the 2016/2017 season. She also secured a podium finish with a third place in the sprint at Kontiolahti in 2013/2014. Her best result at the Olympic Winter Games was a 36th place in the sprint at Sochi 2014.

Cross-Country Skiing Endeavors
