Early Life and Education
Karim Ismailov was born on October 2, 1907 (September 19 in the old calendar) in the village of Jarbeoshi, Bukhara Emirate (now known as Vakhtan District, Tajikistan). In 1928, he graduated from the party school in Dushanbe.
Military Service
During the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), Ismailov served in the Red Army.
Agricultural Innovations
After the war, Ismailov became chairman of the "Moscow" collective farm (later renamed the K. Ismailov collective farm) in 1950. He remained in this position until 1964. Ismailov was known for his innovative agricultural practices.
Political and Social Activities
Ismailov was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) from 1932. He was elected as a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU of Tajikistan at the 11th (1958) and 14th (1961) congresses. He also served as a deputy in the Supreme Soviet of the Tajik SSR from the 3rd to 7th convocations.
Death and Legacy
Karim Ismailov passed away on June 29, 1968. He was buried in the village of Turkabad. The collective farm he once led was renamed in his honor.
Family Connection
Ismailov's brother, Rajab Ismailov, was also a Hero of Socialist Labor (1957) and served as chairman of the Vladimir Lenin collective farm in the Ordzhonikidzeabad district of the Tajik SSR.
