Hugo Kronecker, a German physiologist, was the brother of renowned mathematician Leopold Kronecker (1823-1891).

Early Life and Education

Kronecker pursued his studies in Heidelberg and Berlin. Subsequently, he joined the laboratories of Kühne and Ludwig in Leipzig.

Academic Career

Kronecker was appointed as an extraordinary professor in Leipzig in 1875. In 1877, he moved to the Physiological Institute in Berlin. In 1885, he became an ordinary professor of physiology in Bern.

Scientific Contributions

Kronecker's research encompassed a wide range of physiological topics, including:
