Early Life and CareerCarin Stephans is an American actress, hip-hop model, and writer, best known for her book series "Vixen." She was born in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and moved to Florida at the age of 10. Stephans had a difficult childhood, growing up in poverty and enduring abuse from her alcoholic mother. She also faced neglect from her father and became a victim of sexual assault at the age of 13. At 16, Stephans ran away from home and found work as a dancer, even experiencing homelessness for a period of time. In 1999, she relocated to Los Angeles and currently resides near Hollywood, California.

At 17, Stephans entered into a tumultuous relationship with rapper Nathaniel Wilson, known by his stage name Kool G Rap. Despite the challenges they faced, including the birth of their son, Stephans managed to establish valuable connections in the rapidly growing hip-hop industry. Her association with Wilson helped her secure video modeling gigs in Los Angeles, and she made her debut in Jay-Z's music video for "Hey Papi."

Professional Success and Recognition
Stephans went on to appear in several music videos for prominent American hip-hop artists. In April 2006, she was invited to Oprah Winfrey's show, where she opened up about her childhood sexual abuse and how she allowed her body to be exploited during her work on music videos. In 2003, Stephans landed a role in the action film "A Man Apart," starring Vin Diesel. The following year, she posed for a special swimsuit issue of "Smooth" magazine, and a year later, she graced the cover of the magazine. In 2007, Stephans appeared on the cover of "King" magazine.

Her first book was dedicated to her son, and she donated a portion of the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club of America.
