Biography of Kate Upton
Kate Upton is an American model and actress, best known for her appearances in the 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue' in 2011 and 2012. She was born in St. Joseph, Michigan and grew up in Melbourne, Florida. Her uncle, Fred Upton, was a Republican Congressman.
Modeling Career
Upton's modeling career began in 2008 when she participated in a casting held by 'Elite Model Management' in Miami. The casting was a success and she signed a contract with the company on the same day. She later moved to New York and worked under contract with 'IMG Models'. Upton also worked with brands such as 'Shiatzy Chen', 'Garage', 'Dooney & Bourke', and was the official representative for 'Guess' from 2010 to 2011.
In 2011, Upton made her debut in the 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue' in the body paint category. Her debut was highly successful, earning her the title of 'Rookie of the Year'. She also worked with 'Beach Bunny' swimwear and the renowned brand 'Victoria's Secret'.
Acting Career
In April 2011, Upton gained additional popularity when a video of her doing the hip-hop dance "Dougie" at a Los Angeles Clippers game went viral. This exposure further boosted her career.
Upton made her big-screen debut in the film 'Tower Heist' and later appeared in the film 'The Three Stooges'. In 2012, she once again appeared in the 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue', this time gracing the cover. The cover was unveiled on the 'Late Show with David Letterman' on February 13, 2012. On February 18, 2012, Upton also appeared on 'Saturday Night Live'. She continued to appear on magazine covers such as 'Esquire' and 'Muse'. Upton also dedicated a significant amount of time to working in commercials.
