Katie Nageotte: American Pole Vaulting Champion
Birth and EducationKatie Nageotte was born on June 13, 1991, in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, USA. She graduated from Olmsted Falls High School and Ashland University.
Early Career
Nageotte began pole vaulting in 2009. From 2010 to 2013, she competed in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
National Championships
In 2013, Nageotte began competing at the United States National Championships. She has won three national titles: twice indoors (2018, 2019) and once outdoors (2021).
Olympic Glory
Nageotte's crowning achievement came at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. She soared over the bar at 4.90 meters, securing the gold medal for the United States.
