Early Life and Career

Katsura Masakazu, a renowned mangaka, debuted in 1981 with his first manga, "Wing." In 1982, he won the prestigious Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, which propelled him into a professional career in manga.

Professional Breakthrough

Katsura's first professional work, "Yume Senshi Wingman" (1983-1986), was adapted into a TV anime series (1984-1985). However, the success of the series led to Katsura suffering from exhaustion, resulting in a hospitalization.

Refined Craftsmanship

After his recovery, Katsura significantly improved his drawing and storytelling abilities. In 1990, he launched the romance-fantasy manga "Denei Shoujo Ai" (1990-1993). In 1992, it was adapted into an OAV directed by Nishikubo Mazuho, gaining Katsura widespread recognition. Notably, he also sang three songs for the soundtrack.
