Early Life and Beginnings
Kaito Minobe, a left-handed Japanese fencer, was born into a sporting family. Despite initially pursuing volleyball, he switched to fencing in high school upon his father's advice.
International Debut and Success
Minobe's international debut came in 2008. He joined the Japanese national team and quickly made his mark, earning a bronze medal at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and a silver at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.
Olympic Debut and Accolades
Minobe represented Japan at the 2016 Rio Olympics, finishing 6th in the men's individual épée event. Since then, he has accumulated an impressive record, including two FIE Men's Épée Grand Prix titles and one silver medal. He has also claimed three FIE Men's Épée World Cup titles.
