Sadio Mané: A Senegalese Star

Early Life and Barcelona Academy

Sadio Mané was born in Arbucies, Spain, to Senegalese parents. In 2004, he joined the renowned Barcelona Academy, where he honed his skills for seven years.

Disciplinary Incident and Arsenal Opportunity

In 2010, Mané's prank on a teammate at a tournament in Qatar landed him in hot water. As punishment, he was sent on loan to Cornellà. Despite scoring an impressive 47 goals in one season, he declined to return to Barcelona. Instead, he received offers from Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Transfer to Lazio

Ultimately, Mané chose to sign with Italian club Lazio in 2011. He impressed with his performances, attracting interest from Liverpool and Arsenal. However, Lazio resisted their advances.

Move to Monaco

In August 2017, Mané transferred to AS Monaco for €30 million. He signed a contract until 2022 and took the number 14 jersey.

International Career

Catalan National Team

In December 2015, Mané played for the Catalan National Team in an exhibition match against the Basque Country.

Senegalese National Team

In 2016, Mané opted to represent Senegal internationally. He was part of the team that participated in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
