Biography of Keith Brion
Keith Brion is an American conductor and orchestra leader. He founded the 'New Sousa Band' in 1979, where he served as the musical director and conductor.

Musical Education
Brion received his musical education at West Chester State University and studied piccolo under John Krell. He earned his master's degree while teaching at various schools in New Jersey and attended Rutgers University for his own studies.

Conductor and Orchestra Leader
Brion played piccolo with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and later founded the 'North Jersey Wind Symphony,' serving as its musical director. He also held positions as the leading conductor of several schools in New Jersey and the director of bands at Yale University. Under his leadership, the Yale band performed at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall.
Founder of the 'New Sousa Band'
In 1979, Brion founded the 'New Sousa Band' and took on the role of musical director and conductor. The band primarily focused on performing the music of John Philip Sousa, aiming to replicate the original style of Sousa's ensemble. Brion even performed in the persona of Sousa during the band's concerts.
Collaborations
Brion has collaborated with various musical ensembles, including the Stockholm Symphonic Wind Orchestra, the 'Goldman Band' in New York, the California Wind Orchestra, and the 'Allentown Band.' He has also had the opportunity to perform with military ensembles such as the U.S. Marine Band, the Army Field Band, the Army Band, the Coast Guard Band, and the U.S. Army Band of Europe.
Contributions to Music
Brion has published several works dedicated to orchestral music, with a special focus on composers such as Charles Ives, Percy Grainger, and John Sousa. Currently, he is working on the publication of a complete collection of Sousa's compositions.
