Biography of Kelly Kelly
Barbara Jean Blank, also known as "Barbie", is an American model, dancer, and wrestler. She is best known for her career in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as Kelly Kelly.
Early Life and Career
Barbara Blank spent her childhood and teenage years participating in gymnastics for ten years. However, she had to quit the sport due to a coccyx injury. She then found solace in becoming a cheerleader. Blank later studied broadcast journalism with hopes of pursuing a career in television and also worked as a model, promoting bikini brands such as "Hawaiian Tropic" and "Venus Swimwear." Unexpectedly, she ventured into professional wrestling.
Entry into Wrestling
Blank was approached by the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) through her modeling agency and offered the opportunity to try her hand at wrestling in the Ohio Valley, a training center for the federation. Despite having no prior experience, Blank accepted the offer and signed a contract in May 2006. Even after her debut in the main WWE federation, Blank continued to fly to Ohio Valley once a week to referee, host, and occasionally wrestle. In June 2006, Blank made her debut in ECW as Kelly Kelly. Her character's gimmick involved exhibitionism, where she performed a striptease during her first appearance and continued to do so in subsequent appearances. Her on-screen boyfriend, Mike Knox, would often try to cover her up and lead her away from the spotlight.
Wrestling Career
Blank gradually became involved in feuds between duos such as Knox and Test, and Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman. She made her in-ring debut in a tag team match alongside Knox and Test, but their team ended up losing. Later on, Blank's character developed a storyline romance with CM Punk, causing jealousy from Knox who challenged Punk to a match. During the match, Blank showed support for Punk, and in a subsequent tag team match, Knox betrayed her, allowing her opponent Ariel to attack her. However, Blank would soon get her revenge by defeating Ariel in her first singles match in ECW. Unfortunately, Knox retaliated by attacking her after the match, leaving Blank injured for six weeks.
In January 2007, Blank returned to the ring, reviving her weekly striptease segments. These performances evolved into full-fledged choreographed routines involving not only Blank but also Brooke and Layla. These shows continued for several months before the trio disbanded. In 2008, Blank became the only female wrestler in ECW and transitioned to Raw in July. She teamed up with Mickie James and achieved several victories, including tag team matches and larger group encounters.
On May 18, 2009, Blank won a Battle Royal, defeating all her opponents, including Mickie James, and became the number one contender for the WWE Divas Championship. However, she lost the match due to her opponent's disqualification, resulting in the title remaining with the same wrestler. In addition to her wrestling career, Blank appeared in Timbaland's music video for "Throw It on Me" and participated in the television show "Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp." She also posed for various publications, including the online magazine FHM.
In terms of her personal life, Blank was previously in a relationship with wrestler Randy Orton, but they have since ended their relationship.
